2015 Skellern Lecture and JPMHN Award Lecture
The University of Nottingham will be hosting the 2015 Skellern Lecture and the Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Lifetime Achievement Award (JPMHN) lecture on 11 June 2015 at the Institute of Mental Health.
These awards are given in recognition of outstanding achievement in mental health nursing each year.
Marion Janner OBE, founder of Star Wards, has been named as the recipient of the 2015 JPMHN Lifetime Achievement Award, and she will be presented with her award at the event.
The Institute’s Dr Gary Winship, who chairs the appointments panel for the award added: ‘I would say that the short list for the 2015 JPMHN Lifetime Achievement Award was one of strongest we have seen since the award was established in 2006. The panel had a tough choice to make this year, but Marion was a popular first choice.”
Previous recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute include Professor Patrick Callaghan in 2010 and Dr Julie Repper in 2007; Professor Paul Crawford was shortlisted in 2011 as was Professor Rachel Munton in 2008 - and the winners are nominated and selected by students and Mental Health Nursing clinicians and academics.
