Leadership Qualities Framework for Adult Social Care

The National Skills Academy for Social Care has announced the launch its new Leadership Qualities Framework for Adult Social Care.

The Framework, developed by the Skills Academy, is the first of its kind in social care. It describes, in a clear and accessible way, what good leadership looks like in different settings and situations, illustrating the attitudes and behaviours needed for high-quality leadership at every level of the sector.

The CfWI welcomes the launch of the Leadership Qualities Framework for Adult Social Care at a time when a focus on the workforce is more important than ever. Its particular importance is that it shares a common approach with the NHS Leadership Framework – and will therefore be an important step to support the development of common leadership skills and behaviours in health and social care to drive integrated care.

The aim of the National Skills Academy for Social Care is to transform the quality of social care that service users experience through improving the quality of leadership and commissioning.  Through its membership scheme, the Academy reaches thousands of care homes, home care services and care staff across the sector and across the country.
