An energetic, organised, self-directed postgraduate is sought to work with Professor Steven Jones, Dr Fiona Lobban and their team on an exciting programme of translational research into the psychology and psychological treatment of bipolar disorder. The candidate will be responsible to further development of research recruitment infrastructure for mental health studies, in particular through primary care. The post holder will also provide support for recruitment and data management for specific Spectrum studies. Duties will include the liaison with NHS clinical and administrative staff, supporting NHS recruitment, ability to deliver clinical therapy and assessment of participants where required. This post will require strong interpersonal skills and extensive data management.
You will have a good degree in Psychology or Social Sciences, and a relevant clinical doctorate (Clin Psy D). You will have a thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods, statistics and research methodology (including statistical software e.g. SPSS) and an understanding of clinical research in NHS settings. Previous experience of working with people with bipolar disorder/ related conditions and their family and knowledge of relevant assessment measures would be advantageous.
This post will be based at the Spectrum Centre, Lancaster University. However, recruitment and assessments will occur throughout the North West of England. Therefore, the ability to travel independently is essential.
This post is fixed-term for 12 months.
